Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop – Never Ever Grow Up!

Its always so much fun to be hopping with the amazing Around The World On Wednesday Team, so if you are new here it is ever so lovely to meet you!

This months theme really touched my heart- Never Ever Grow Up! When my husband and I were first married we were told I was unable to have children due to having severe endometriosis and terrible scar tissue. Little did we know that three months later I would be pregnant with our first son and go on to have 4 more pregnancies with 4 sons earth side and twin boys in heaven. I am not saying it was an easy journey to have our family but they really are my little miracles.

Jump forward to today and we are navigating so many new and wonderful things with our boys and lets be honest some that make this little mumma’s heart sad. Our eldest son Sean will be moving into his first home as its just finished being built, our number two son Paddy is changing direction and moving into residential plumbing rather then industrial plumbing, Declan has moved into loans/banking and loving living in the new unit and our baby Ronan is in the last few months of his senior year, working out where he will go to university next year.

I can not quite believe that my little boys are all grown up and my once full home is soon going to be quite empty. I think we always hope that our little ones never grow up or we could slow down time but in reality life moves on and I have to be proud of the strong and wonderful men we raised them to be.

So for me the theme Never Grow Up makes me thing of all the amazing holidays we had at Woodgate Beach. My husband often couldn’t get away so this little mumma would pack up her boys and drive 45 minutes down the road to our slice of Paradise. I learnt how to fish so I could teach my four little boys this skill and I even acquired my boat license which always makes me giggle as I get terrible motion sickness….. but I did it!

This is my favourite place in the whole world!

The endless hours of fun they had a Woodgate, digging for pippies, making sandcastles, surfing the non existent waves and later on in life checking out the pretty girls walking by still makes me smile. I know when my boys have their children they will make more beautiful memories at Woody.

So I decided to create a ocean scape scrapbook page so I can capture the memories and the amazing friendship/ bond that my not so little boys have.

The beautiful Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set and coordinating Waves Dies were perfect for this scrapbook page and oh so easy to create!

To create this page find as many colour blues and teals in our beautiful Designer Series Paper as you can find and tear across the page in a curvy manner. Do not over think it, just tear away until you have lots of strips to create with. I also added the beautiful Layering Designs Vellum in between some layers so it could just peak out. Layer all your strips randomly with Dimensionals and Tombow glue to create the dimension to the ocean scene. I hope you have some fun and rip up your Designer Series Paper, its so therapeutic.

Forever Friends by Stampin’Up!

When browsing through the NEW Mini Catalogue this fabulous stamp set caught my eye! I love a stamp that has multiple uses when creating and this one ticks all those boxes!

Look at all those fabulous images, they are super versatile and can be used for any occasion! The sentiments are both fun and sincere which match perfectly with the stamped images. Perfect for creating a stack of cards and coordinating projects for all occasions.

Stamp your images and leave as is or colour them in with your favourite colouring tools. Imagine the different techniques you can create with your Water Colour Pencils, Stampin’Blends and Stampin Writes and Heat Embossing tools to name a few.

When my order arrived one of the images in Forever Friends stamp set reminded me of a card my lovely friend and fellow Stampin’Up! Demonstrator Jessie Holton sent me for my birthday many years ago. I loved it so much that I kept it tucked away with all my special cards.

I thought why not CAS(e) Jessie’s card with this beautiful NEW stamp set and put my own spin on it.

So out came the Forever Friendship Stamp Set, the Hive 3D Embossing folder, that beautiful Starry Sky InColour Card Stock, the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, some embellishments and off I went to craft up a storm!

It was such a quick card to create yet I love how beautifully it turned out!

I don’t know about you but there is something quaint about the clunky old typewriters from yesteryear. I can remember being grade 8 in high school tapping away on one and loving the clickety clack sound of the keys and that distinctive bell ring for the return. It made me sad the following year they were all replaced by the new electric typewriters and the computer labs. Ive even gone so far as to look into buying a key board that replicates the old style sound but Im worried my boys will hear me at all hours of the night tapping away.

I have a custom order to create and I can just see those super cute cardigans in the mix! I cant wait to whip up the cards tomorrow and share them with you all!

Around The World on Wednesday – CAS(e) a Team Member With A Twist!

Oh its so nice to be back hopping with the lovely ATWOW team and even nicer that I get to CAS(e) the gorgeous Teri West!

This months theme was rather special! As we are all scattered all around the world we were asked not only to CAS(e) a team member but to get to know each other better.

After a wonderful Facetime call I found out that the lovely Teri hails from Juneau, Alaska, surrounded by incredibly water views and beautiful mountains where as I am 11,405km across the seas on the coast of Australia.

We may be poles apart in distance but gosh we hit it off like life long friends.

It may sound strange as I come across a very confident person but I always get really nervous when meeting new people. I shouldn’t have been worried as Teri was so beautiful, kind hearted and welcoming so much so that I felt right at home straight away.

I honestly loved talking to her about the differences of where we live, our climates and the different types of animals we have…..I must admit Im glad we only have snuggly Koala kind of bears and not brown bears but in saying that I am so jealous that she gets snow!

SNOW is on my bucket list of things to experience before I die!

I also got to tour Teri’s Craft room and boy oh boy did I have craft room envy!!! It is the perfect space to hold large classes and I just know that when she retires and can dedicate more time, that its going to be filled to the brim with happy crafters. Terri is drawn to crafting with florals and plants where as I love lots of really girly colours, I think this stems from me trying to get my girly fix as I’m surrounded by hubby and my four boys!

I really struggled to choose which of Teri’s cards to CAS(e) as they are all so beautiful but I kept coming back to this nautical card as I loved the Faux Embossing Technique she used.

Teri has created a Faux Embossed background using the Sail Boat Builder Punch! Doesn’t it look fabulous! I love the bubbly background as it reminds me of the frothy sea and continues that beautiful nautical theme.

So to CAS(e) Terri’s card it is important to know that Christmas is my most favourite time of year so with that in mind its never too early to start getting your Christmas card stash ready! I also love Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer so I decided to join those two loves together to create this fun and Christmassy card!

I have used the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set & Deer Builder Punch to create the Faux Embossed background and I had so much fun blowing bubbles with my Stampin Ink refill mixed with a dash of water, a dash of liquid soap and a bamboo straw to create the bubbly background – lets pretend that it kinda looks like fluffy snow! To finish off I added some Pearlised Enamel Basics in Real Red to each of the reindeers noses to make them look like real Rudolph’s!

We have two Stampin’Up! products that I absolutely adore, the first and often missed in the Annual Catalogue is our Adhesive Sheets! Peel off one side of the adhesive sheet and add it to the back of your card stock and either punch or run your stamped image and Die through the Stampin’ Emboss and Cut Machine then peel it off and adhere to your card front -thus creating your very own sticker! As you can see this is how I adhered my reindeers to the card without having to worry about any glue seepage.

The second product that you are going to fall in LOVE with is the BRAND NEW Pearlised Enamel Effects Basics. You can use this lacquer in so many ways. The small, thin tip makes it easy to outline stamped images or add detail. Draw attention to part of a stamped image. Write and draw shapes such as stars and hearts BUT my most favourite TIP for you all is to unroll your Mini Glue Dots and add a small spot of the enamel onto each adhesive dot. Allow to dry and you have your very own Pearlised Enamel Embellishments…..make as many as you need! This is such a game changer!

Happiness Abounds by Stampin’Up!

My wonderful friend Therese and her husband Tony already had two gorgeous sons from Korea when they got the call to say that their next bundle of joy was on its way.

What a wonderful surprise it was when she called me to say that a bouncing baby boy AND a surprise little princess had been born! Twins such a miracle

I can still remember being so shocked and excited and said we are going to share this baby girl and as all friends do we laughed together!

Here we are 18 years later celebrating Brigid’s 18th Birthday!

As the mum of four boys I wanted to get her something special so when I found this silver bracelet, I knew it was the one!

It had a beautiful heart clasp but within was heart was the tree of life. I felt it represented her birth parents, her incredible mum and dad, her three big brothers and of course one little branch was for me!

Of course with any gift, I had to create a beautiful card to go with it! The Happiness Abounds Stamp Set was absolutely perfect for this very special occasion.

I stamped the floral images with Versamark and Basic White Embossing powder, I then used one of our new Blending Brushes and Orchid Oasis Ink to shade the flowers. Tip to give your flowers more dimension add more circular strokes of colour to your outside petals and less towards the centre. I then added Daffodil Delight Stampin’Blend for the centre stamen.

An absolute must have to step up any card is one of most most favourite and most inexpensive Stampin’Up! products – Wink of Stella!

See that fabulous shimmer it creates! I am addicted to it! Colour your stamped images with any Stampin’Up! product – Ink pads, Stampin write markers, Blends or Watercolour Pencils then brush over with the Wink of Stella! It creates the finest shimmer and gives any card that polished look.

Happy Birthday Darling Brigid! I hope you loved your gift as much as I have loved you over the last 18 years.

My First Crafting With Cazz Class Back!

Over the weekend I celebrated a massive win by returning to in person classes after 2 1/2 years due to ill health.

To say I was one happy crafter is an understatement! It was so wonderful to be back sharing my love of Stampin’Up! again with all of my wonderful attendees.

Funnily enough I had Eminems lyrics stuck in my head leading up to Saturday. You know the one…… Guess who’s back. Back again. Cazz’s Back. Tell a friend. Can you tell I was super excited!

As most of you know I love 3D projects and knew I had to create something special for our first class. I wanted something that showcased the FABULOUS Artfully Composed Suite by Stampin’Up! and I felt this project ticked all the boxes!

This Mini Gift Book is such a great project for any occasion and is created with one just sheet of 12″ x 12″ Basic White cardstock. Mine is filled with crafting goodies but you could fill each of your pockets with photos, gift cards, movie tickets, bank notes or even flower seed packets. The ideas are endless. I cant wait to make some for end of year thank you’s for Ronan’s teachers.

My first pocket contained two 3″ x 3″ notecards with our 3″ x 3″ envelopes. The clip charm you can see I created with Shrinky Dink and was stamped with the beautiful Monstera leaf from the stamp set. Oh do not forget to punch your hole before shrinking or you wont be able to attach your charm.

The second pocket I filled with 3 Tailor Made Tags and created a cute side pocket which housed an Artfully Layered Vellum envelope. I love the versatility of this beautiful vellum.

Last but not least the final pocket I created a removable notecard, perfect for your sentiments.

I loved how this Gift Book is not very big yet it could fit all of these projects into one!

Onstage Presentation – Artfully Composed Suite!

At a Annual Stampin’Up! Event called Onstage I was fortunate enough to be asked to present the stunning Artfully Composed Suite to participating Stampin’Up! Demonstrators from all around the world.

This was my second time presenting for Stampin’Up! and I am still pinching myself at the incredible honour that was bestowed on me. The support I received from Stampin’Up! and my fellow Demonstrators was overwhelming.

I had been very unwell leading up to the event and ended up needing surgery shortly after, so I have only just realised that I havent shared the fabulous Artfully Composed Suite and the beautiful projects I created for the presentation with you all!

So without further ado here is the fabulous Artfully Composed Suite! Add lush tropical greenery and soft vintage elements to your paper crafting with the Artfully Composed Suite Collection. The suite is designed to work together to create loose collage layers and elements. I LOVE IT and you will too!

Let me share with you some of the projects I created!

Sometimes creating is just about adding ink to cardstock! This super easy card was created using the Stamp On Stamp Off Technique! Its one of my favourite techniques. All you need to do is add Ink to your stamp set and stamp onto your card front then without re inking stamp again to create a darker and lighter stamped image. I love the variation of colours tones you can create with just one Ink pad!

The Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper in this collection is just glorious ! Doesn’t this design just pop off the page!! I’ve stamped the palm front directly onto the Layering Design Vellum and used a fine tip Water Painter to fix any imperfections. Just leave it to air dry before adhering it to your card front! Whatever you do don’t use your heat tool to speed up the process……I learnt the hard way that vellum curls up into a little ball when heat is applied ha ha.

This would have to be my FAVOURITE project I created for the event! From the outside its a basic slim line card created with all those beautiful Tropical Layer Dies and soft Layering Design Vellum and then you open it up to find lots of beautiful pockets to fill with photographs, movie tickets, gift cards, cash or just notes of inspiration to be popped inside. This card is perfect to create for any occasion!

To create this next card I added a splash of Gold Embossing Powder with just one stamp to create the background! Adding embossing powder to any card can make it a showstopper!

One of the main reasons I joined Stampin’Up! was how beautifully all of the products coordinate with each other! I don’t have time to waste trying to find what is going to match what! Stampin’Up! takes all the guess work away for you! For example I love to gift presents in Stampin’Up! packaging, this cute little gift bag and note card I created always goes down a treat and all the products used come from this fabulous suite.

Don’t the Faux Sea Glass Shapes and the 3/4″ Frayed Ribbon add a super cute detail to this Monstera pot. They are fabulous for adding a textural addition to any card front or project.

Its a little hard to tell by the photo but this Monstera plant card was created in 3D and both the pot and plant popped off the card. I used a Stampin’Up! Bone folder to lift and curl the Monstera Die and then adhered them with multiple layers of Dimensionals to the card front. I loved how this card turned out.

Now I can not forget my all my beautiful scrapbooking customers! This page is rather special as I used almost every element of the Suite to create it!

The Tropical Layer Dies are just fabulous to create with and I adore how it came together.

My models are my baby sister Suellen and her youngest son Gabriel. Isn’t he the sweetest?

Last but not least – Creating 3D projects and cards make this little crafters heart happy!

This beautiful card has a window created with the rectangle dies and then backed with the glorious Layering Design Vellum. It folds flat for posting and just needs a battery operated tea light to make the window light up and those beautiful Monstera leaves come to life.

A little tip the monstera leaves are actually the inside piece of the monstera die and I attached the Adhesive Sheets to the Artfully Composed DSP to make them easier to attach to the vellum. Aren’t they a gorgeous addition to the card front?

Around the World on Wednesday – CAS(e) a Team Member

Its that lovely time of the month where I hop with all my gorgeous Around The World On Wednesday friends! I am always so inspired by their creativity and joy of crafting. This months Blog Hop theme is to(CASe) A Team Member! I am so lucky to be casing my beautiful friend Cheryll Miller! She is an absolute artisan of her craft!

Here is the card I have chosen to CAS(e). Isn’t it just stunning? I found it really difficult to chose which one of Cheryll’s cards I should recreate! What drew me to this card in particular was that heavenly golden background! I have had my tub of Gilded Leafing for a little while now but I hadn’t found the perfect card to test it out on. Thanks Cheryll for making me bite the bullet!

So without further ado here is my CAS(e) card!

I really enjoyed creating this card from beginning to end! It definitely took me out of my comfort zone as it had lots of different techniques to have fun with. To create that beautiful multi toned pattern I watercolour washed some Fluid 100 watercolour paper in Bumble Bee, Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral and our trusty new Water Painters. I then punched out the watercolour paper with the Label Me Lovely Punch and stamped each one with with all the gorgeous foliage from the Forever Fern stamp set to add patterns to each label.

To achieve that absolutely gorgeous gold background I applied Adhesive Sheet to a mat of Basic White Thick cardstock. All you need to do is to pull the backing of the Adhesive Sheet and sprinkle the Gilded Leafing liberally over the adhesive. I then used a blending brush to ensure all of the adhesive was covered. Once its all blended just pop any left over leaf back into your container! I have to say this product is AMAZING!! I don’t know why I was so worried to work with it.

**It was such a decadent feeling to work with this beautiful product and the results speak for itself!**

I then stamped the sentiment from the Happiest Of Birthdays stamp set and embossed it with Gold embossing powder onto a left over piece of Sweet Papaya watercolour paper before trimming out by hand. I then added a some of the Simply Elegant Trim to finish off the card.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be back hopping with all my gorgeous Around The World On Wednesday friends! Ive really missed everyone and their creativity! This months Blog Hop theme is Step it Up! and I couldn’t be happier because this means not one, not two but three cards for you to enjoy!

Ill be honest I couldn’t pass up creating with the beautiful You’re A Peach Suite! Your projects will be just peachy with these fruitful images. Fruits and flowers come together for a beautiful combination. This suite will make your projects oh, so sweet. It’s hands down my favourite in the Catalogue!! So lets start with a Beginner Card! Sometimes all you need is some cardstock and ink to make a pretty card! Ive teamed up the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set with Sweet Papaya 10cm x 20 cm card stock and ink pad, Basic White Matting measuring 9.5cm square and Pear Pizza ink for the leaves. Add a hint of Wink Of Stella and you have yourself a card ready to go! I think its rather sweet!

Lets Step it up a little for our Casual Stamper! All we need to do is add some gorgeous You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and some layers! Add your DSP and then adhere a 7.5cm x 10.5cm piece of Sweet Papaya cardstock to the front of your 10.5cm x 28.8cm card base and matt with Basic White Card stock measuring 7cm x 10cm. I’ve stamped the peach image on a scrap of Basic White with Sweet Papaya and then cut with the coordinating Peach Dies! All you need to do now is add your sentiment small floral stamps and shade the outer edges of the peach images with the Dark Sweet Papaya Stampin’Blends. Oh and I mustn’t forget my favourite Wink of Stella, it makes any card look more beautiful.

Last but not least I’ve stepped it up for our Avid crafters! Lets create a fun fold card and add some intricate Die cuts, gorgeous Sweet Papaya open weave ribbon, heat embossing and some sparkling embellishments! Who doesn’t love a fun fold right? Anything 3D makes my heart sing! I hope you love this card too!

Your card base needs to be 4 1/4″ x 11″ (10.8cm x 27.8cm) Score on 11″ side at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″. Fold and burnish on all your score lines. Adhere the 1 1/8″ scored area to your card base. Adhere your Designer Series Paper measuring 10.5cm x 10cm (4 1/4″ x 4″) and 3cm x 10cm ( 1 1/8″ x 4″) to the front of your card. Add your Encircled With Beauty Die, 3 stamped peach images and heat emboss your sentiment on Calypso Coral. Finish off by adding some embellishments and tying your Papaya Weave ribbon into a bow.

For the inside you will need one piece of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper scored at 3″, turn and score again at 3″. You will then score it once on the diagonal. Fold in half and in half again, pinching the diagonal score lines in to create the fun fold. Adhere on the base of your card and then add adhesive to the top of your fold and adhere to the inside flap of our card. Your decorative pieces measure 7cm2 and Basic White matting 6.5 cm2 ( 2 3/4″square and 2 1/2″ square) Stamp your peach branch and floral images and adhere to the inside of the fun fold. Its such a special card to gift someone!
