Christmas with a twist- Stamping Sisters!

Hello my fellow crafters can you believe its November! The countdown is on not only for Christmas in our household but but for my youngest sons birthday! I can hardly believe that my baby is turning 16! Where has that time gone?

Around The World On Wednesday Blog Hop – What’s happening around you!

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Design Team’s October Blog Hop. My name is Cazz Boylan from sunny Queensland, Australia. Around the World on Wednesday has been created by my friend Angie McKenzie. It is such a delight to be hopping each month with these amazingly talented demonstrators from all around the world.

This months theme has a specific focus on what is happening around you! Yours truly has been spending lots of time in the craft room! I have cleaned it from top to bottom to celebrate the beginning of the new Stampin’Up! year.

Can you see that window in the background it gives me a sneak peak out to my vegetable garden! There is nothing more magical then seeing something grow from start to finish!

From my office chair I can see this little beauty peeking out at me. Check out those beautiful colours!

Have you ever grown a pineapple before? It is oh so easy! Just cut the top of your pineapple and pop it in the ground and water it every once in a while. That’s it! Oh i should mention that it does take two years for a new pineapple to grow to be ready to eat so you have to be patient! I promise you its worth it!

The Timeless Tropical Stamp set and In The Tropics Dies were perfect for this project!

Who would have thought that a sunny yellow pineapple could throw hues of pinks purple. I teamed up the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and our fabulous Water Painters with Gorgeous Grape, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral to try and replicate some of those pretty tones.

I then decided to colour my ribbon to match my card! Its oh so easy, just use a piece of grid paper and colour in your ribbon with any shade of Stampin’Blend you like! This is the perfect way to colour coordinate with any card or project you create!

I finished off the card with some Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper! Isn’t that pop of colour just gorgeous plus its on SALE this month! How fabulous is that! Live in Australia? All products will be listed for your convenience at the end of my blog! Happy shopping!

Now you could stamp the image directly to the card for some simple stamping but I decided to mix up the coffee cup images by fussy cutting them and popping them up on Dimensionals. Add some colouring with our fabulous Stampin Blends and HEY PRESTO you have a stack of cards ready to send out!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop – Tag Team!

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Design Team’s September Blog Hop. My name is Cazz Boylan from sunny Queensland, Australia. Around the World on Wednesday has been created by my friend Angie McKenzie. It is such a delight to be hopping each month with these amazingly talented demonstrators from all around the world.

This months Around the World on Wednesday theme is to create two coordinating projects……I made three I was so excited!

I had only received the gorgeous Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set in the mail a few days earlier and it was calling out my name to ink her up and have some fun!

The cards were super simple to create and a great idea if you want to make some en masse! Stamp both of your sunflowers images randomly over your card front with Memento ink. I added a pop of colour using Dark & Light Mango Melody Stampin Blends on one of the sunflowers.

Versamark your sentiment on a scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock, add that magic White Stampin Emboss powder and heat until beautiful and glossy. Cut out using your snips and add some looped linen thread to finish them off.

Next I created the tags with two inch strips of Crumb Cake cardstock. Punch your ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper. Stamp your sentiment on the top of each tag with Early Espresso ink and then stamp your small sunflowers onto a scrap of crumb cake cardstock. Colour in with Mango Melody Stampin Blends and the leaves with Old Olive light Stampin Blends and attach to your tag. ( Make sure you are not a ninny like me and use your coordinating Dies to cut these out instead of fussy cutting haha) Add your Faux Suede Ribbon and tie off with you linen thread.

I decided to create a gift card set to hold the cards and tags in! I love 3D projects as they really do make my heart sing!

See how glossy this Sunflower is, I added a coat of Fine Tip Glue Pen to the entire flower. This fab tip I learnt from Angie x!

I teamed up the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set & coordinating Sunflower Dies with the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and Faux Suede Trim. Using the Simply Scored I added three pockets to the inside for the cards, tags and envelopes to sit in neatly. Add some extra gorgeous Sunflowers and you have a beautiful gift for a friend or family member.

Stamping Sisters Blog Hop- Rainbows!

Hello and welcome to this months Stamping Sisters Blog Hop! This months theme is Rainbows. You have to admit that there is an undeniable effect of enchantment caused by the appearance of a rainbow. The view is often breathtaking and often leaves us feeling happier! For me however I see them as a real blessing.

My youngest son Ronan is our Rainbow baby! We lost our twin boys Finbar & Riley due to complications with the pregnancy. What is a rainbow baby you might ask? A rainbow baby is a healthy baby born after losing a miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death. Ronan is definitely our little blessing.

Around the World on Wednesday – Shaking things up!

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Design Team’s August Blog Hop. My name is Cazz Boylan from sunny Queensland, Australia. Around the World on Wednesday has been created by my friend Angie McKenzie. It is such a buzz to be hopping each month with these amazingly talented demonstrators from all around the world.

This month’s theme is to create something that is new to me! Which was so much fun as there are so many techniques that I have been wanting to try! I chose to create a card with the Black Magic Technique!

Generally when you create a black magic card you stamp your image with white Craft Ink wait for it to dry and then colour over the white image with your Water Colour Pencils. This time however I tried the Heat Emboss Black Magic Technique.

With this version you stamp your images from the Beautiful Moments stamp set with Versamark ink, cover with your white Stampin Emboss powder and heat until the image is glossy. Using your gorgeous Water Colour pencils colour quite heavily on the white embossed lines. To finish off your card you drag the colour over your image until you get the desired effect with the fabulous NEW set of three Water Painters.

It was so much fun to try something new and I really love how the image really pops off the page! Try this fun technique out and let me know how you go!
