Centerstage Auckland 2019

Earlier this year I achieved Silver Elite within my little business! You have no idea how incredibly proud I was to make it to this level.

Living with a heart condition I am extremely limited in what I can and cant do with my business and my life, so to be able to reach this milestone was a life changing moment!

There is no way I could not have achieved this milestone without the help of my wonderful team and my beautiful customers! Thank you!

Once inside we were greeted by an amazing traditional concert! Such a cultural highlight of my trip away!

I was so incredibly lucky to be seated with the gorgeous Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’Up! and the beautiful Merilee Hunt, Executive Assistant to the CEO, COO & Board Chair of Stampin’Up! What an absolute honour!

Auckland Onstage Day 1!

I am still playing catch up as I’ve been on bedrest since my return from New Zealand!

The first day of Onstage was everything I could have hoped for! It was so lovely catching up with so many of my favourite Stampin’Up! demos new and old!

As you arrive you exchange your swaps for someone else’s creation! For example If you create 50 swaps you receive 50 different swaps in return. The more the merrier! I have come home with so many beautiful swaps!

Here I am ready to swap! Its such a great icebreaker and so lovely meeting new demos!

These are the swaps I created and the second picture is all the swaps I received in return!

This is only a small snap shot of some of the attendees swapping away happily!

When you check in you receive a goodie bag filled with everything you will need for the conference! Other then the gorgeous bag itself, we were given a note book, pens, a brand new stamp and some file folders as well as our lanyard and promotion ribbons!

Isn’t the bag just gorgeous! Its one of the brand new colours coming with the new Annual Catalogue!

Once inside we were serenaded and welcomed with an amazing New Zealand Traditional Concert! This is a moment I will never forget!

Our beautiful CEO Sara Douglass was given a traditional New Zealand welcome!

Once we were under way we got to hear from some of guest speakers from SU’s home off and finally see all the beautiful new IN COLOURS coming our way!! They Are fabulous and I know you will love them too!

ROCOCO ROSE, PURPLE POSY, PRETTY PEACOCK, TERRACOTTA TILE AND SEASIDE SPRAY!

Stampin’UP! made sure we had a delicious New Zealand treat to keep us going! I brought some of these home for my boys as they were so delicious!

The moment we got our hands on this beautiful new Annual Catalogue there was a palpable silence descend over the entire auditorium….and for good reason! Oh my word this catalogue is fabulous!

I honestly believe its their best catalogue yet! No it’s not because of all the fabulous new products within it ( in saying that oh my goodness Im going to need a second job by the looks of my wish list) but I also love the layout design! It’s so incredibly easy to find everything you want now!

Auckland Onstage Flip Card!

So many demonstrators have reached out since Auckland Onstage asking how I created this mini flip card for the FOLLOW YOUR ART SUITE and I have I have to be honest there is a funny story involved!

I started out creating a explosion box card and accidentally cut an entire square off one corner instead of the small angle. So I was left with a piece of 12 x 12 looking rather sad! I didn’t want to waste the cardstock!

I loved that I was able to use so many of the elements from the Follow Your Art Suite!

Here it is all unfolded! So many different elements from the Follow Your Art Suite!

So here are the directions on how NOT to create an explosion box haha

To create your Flip Card you will need a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.

Using your Simply Score Board score your cardstock at 3 1/2″, 3 5/8″, 7 5/8″, 7 7/8″and 11 6/8″.

Turn your cardstock a 1/4 turn and score the entire length at 4″ and 8″

Now score ONLY to the bottom of the second horizontal line at 1 3/4″, 2 1/8″ 5 7/8″, 6 1/8″, 9 7/8″ and 10 1/4.

Using a ruler mark in the middle panel at 3 3/4 and 8 1/4″ and score

Use this image as your guide.

Cut your Flip Card following the template provided. Ensure all your cuts are straight so it folds together nicely.

As you can see I have trimmed an 1″ off at this stage to make my front flap an accent piece using the Follow Your Art Dies and Embellishment Kit.

Here is the outside of the front flap decorated and how I decorated this inside of it.

Burnish on all score lines with your Bone folder.

To create your inserts for you pockets cut two piece of coordinating cardstock measuring 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2′ and the larger pocket insert measures 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″. You will also need 6 of the button dies found in the Follow Your Art Dies to create your button handles.

Decorate to your hearts content using the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit and Dies.

I hope you love this project as much as I did creating it!

New Zealand Trip 2019

Kia Ora everyone! Wow what an absolutely incredible week I had in New Zealand attending the Annual Onstage event for Stampin’Up!

To say I was excited was an understatement! This would be my very first overseas trip and I couldn’t think of a prettier and more welcoming place to go!

As I was guest speaking in NZ we left 2 days earlier so my little heart wouldn’t misbehave too much…. sadly it doesn’t like travelling but I do!

I cant tell you how excited I was to get on board and start our journey! Here I am at the Departure lounge with my ever so sexy compression stockings on! Sadly they are a must with a heart condition and anyone else with circulatory issues….. I was glad I wasn’t the only one rocking them!

The obligatory I’m getting on a plane shot!! I cant wait to scrapbook this experience!

As my hubby was unable to get away from work I had to have a support team! My lovely baby sister and her hubby already had a tripped planned for NZ but they brought it forward so I would have a family member over there in case things went pair shaped!

My other support person was my gorgeous friend of 18 years and fabulous downline Katie who came to celebrate Onstage with me! What an amazing friend, right?

We arrived late afternoon to our hotel to this spectacular sight! The SkyTower is an incredible piece of architecture that absolutely blew my mind!

After a restful nights sleep we decided to do a little exploring…or the way my photos tell the story we dined all day oops!

Upon wakening we ended up in a very cool water front restaurant called Amano! The ceilings were adorned with the most spectacular dried floral bouquets. I loved that they had kept the history of the building with some modern twists!

I wish buildings could share their stories! I love how the owners kept a beautiful balance of new versus old.

Could our breakfast date be any cuter! This is my darling niece Estelle who everyone knows I am her favourite Aunty!

After a beautiful leisurely walk along the deck, Katie & I enjoyed the most delicious ice cream! Mine had lashings of caramel, the old fashioned kind like my grandma used to make!

We then went off to the Sky Tower Convention Room for my rehearsal! The Ceo Sara & mum Shelli owner of Stampin’Up! were sitting in the front row waiting for me to begin…..talk about being nervous! For those who have never met these two incredible women they are the most caring, considerate and welcoming women on the planet!

It was so exciting to get a sneak peak of what was to come!

After the dress rehearsal Katie and I met up with our other gorgeous friend and demo Monica for a spot of lunch at the beautiful Ferry Building! What an incredible view with food to match!

So after a well deserved rest we went out to dinner at one of the most beautiful restaurants in NZ called The Grove! Anyone that knows me well knows that other than loving craft I have a fine appreciate for cooking beautiful food and eating it. The Grove menu is a selection of Degustations.

For those who love a good food menu keep reading otherwise skip to the pictures!

Our starter consisted of fresh Oysters with raspberry pearls and golden fried cheese balls coated in black caviar powder. Sadly I forgot to take a picture of it! Our bread rolls were accompanied by grapefruit and cinnamon butter. This was followed by New Zealand tuna Carpaccio with apricot and miso ice cream, tempura capers, kiwi fruit 3 ways and mini onion rings.

Our next course could only be described as a delight to all the senses. A earthy centre piece was brought out with dry ice inside, a mushroom jus was poured over for an aromatic element. The meals itself was a mushroom shaped muffin with the consistency of a melt in your mouth soufflé with mushrooms 5 ways! It was then followed by Wagu eye fillet sitting on a bed of shredded beef with beef jus, deep fried stuffed brussel sprouts and accompanied by a hazelnut purée.

We then had a palette cleanser of Lemon ices encrusted with powdered tangerine. This was followed by a popcorn parfait consisting of caramelised popcorn ice cream with fejoa jam and topped with a vodka and fejoa sorbet. Last but certainly not least we finished off with a miso fudge!

Amazing!!

To end what I consider and the most amazing day already was a trip up to the very top of the Sky Tower to see beautiful New Zealand in all its glory!

What an incredible two days with many firsts and lots of ticks off my bucket list! However the best was yet to come! Onstage at its very finest!

Onstage 2019 New Zealand Swaps!

I can hardly believe it, but there are only two sleeps before I head to New Zealand!

My very FIRST overseas trip!

I am heading over to NZ for Stampin’up! Onstage! This event is designed to bring Stampin’Up! Demonstrators from all over the world together! I am fortunate enough to have one of my fabulous team members and another bestie attending.

There truly is nothing like being in an energy-filled room with hundreds upon hundreds of other demonstrators who are as passionate about Stampin’ Up! as I am!

One of the perks of attending Onstage is seeing the new Annual Catalogue before anyone else! You also get to see and create with the beautiful new products first hand! This is like winning the jackpot in my eyes!

This event is just another reason to be a part of this fabulous company! Don’t think about it, just do it! I love my gorgeous Team!

One of the lovely things Stampin’Up encourages is for each demonstrator to bring swaps with them. Before the event starts you walk around meeting new demonstrators and swap their gorgeous design for your own. I love walking away with loads of new ideas and creating life long friendships along the way!

I am a 3D lover, so I had to create a swap that I could fold flat in my suitcase but still looked super cute!

These gorgeous little boxes were just perfect and fitted all my criteria!

To make these little cuties at home you will need –

One piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 10″ x6″.

Two pieces of Designer Series Paper measuring 2 1/4′ x 2 1/4″ and four measuring 2 1/4 x 1″. (Please Note I have used the 6×6 Designer Series paper in Brights and Subtles).

Scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and Designer Series Paper or Cardstock for circles.

Vellum

Instructions –

Using your Simply Score Board score your long side at 2 1/2″, 3 3/4″, 6 1/4″ and 7 1/2″.

Score on your short side at 3/4″, 2″, 4 1/2″ and 5 3/4″.

Using the image below, cut away the panels you do not need!

Adhere your Designer Series Paper to the front panels.

Burnish with your Bone folder on each scoreline!

Stamp your hibiscus flower from the Tropical Chic Stamp set and cut using the coordinating dies.

Punch a 1 1/4″ circle of coordinating cardstock and a 1″ circle of Vellum! Adhere all three with dimensionals.

Thats it! No need to adhere your box together, it all folds in on itself to create the perfect no adhesive gift box!

Explosion Box!

I had so much fun creating this Explosion box with the Needlepoint Nook Suite!

Isn’t the stitched detail on the lid just to die for!

The thing I loved most about this project is how simple it was to create! I have a fondness for projects that have that WOW factor without all the hard work.

Here is the inside of this gorgeous box!

I think anyone would be thrilled to receive such a special gift box!

I honestly don’t think this box would have turned out as pretty without the use of the delightful Needle & Thread Stamp set and coordinating Dies!

Few things are more personal than embroidery and just look at the photorealistic stitched flowers! I love how crisp the images stamp! Send happiness and love into the world with this set plus if you purchase the Bundle you will save and additional 10%.

To create this box you will need the following products-

12×12 sheet of Whisper White Cardstock -score at 3″ on all four sides
5 7/8″ Square piece of Petal Pink Cardstock -score at 7/8″ on all sides (large lid)
6×6″ DSP or Cardstock to create mini box inside (score at 2″ on all sides)
3 1/2″ Square Petal Pink Cardstock and score at 5/8″ on all sides (small lid)
4- 3 1/2″ square Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper ( to decorate the outside of your box)
2 -3 1/2″ square petal pink card stock and two 3 1/2″ designer series paper ( to decorate the inside of the box)
scrap whisper white paper for floral image for the mini lid

I found the basic box measurements for this project on the lovely Dena Rekow’s Youtube channel you will find the instructions here – https://youtu.be/MC6vk1uJ8Q8

Please follow her instructions to create your box base but before adhering your box lid run it through your cutting machine with the lovely floral detailed die to give that delicate stitched top.

To create your floral mirror image, ( handle for mini box lid) line up your green leaf detail onto your stamparatus. Ink up your image and stamp directly onto a silicon mat. Now pop your piece of cardstock onto of this inked image and stamp again. This will create the reverse image onto your cardstock and allow you to cut with the die.

Stamp two flowers and adhere one onto the centre of the leaf detail. Now on the other side at a small strip 3/4″”x 1/4″ in the centre to create a stem. Adhere your second floral image on top.

Using a craft knife make a small slit through the top centre of your mini lid. Cut up your stem, fold stems in opposite direction. Adhere the flaps to the inside of the lid. ( If they are too long these can trimmed to size).

Punch a coordinating Circle and adhere to the inside of your box lid to hide the stems.

I hope you love creating this project as much as I did!

Don’t Miss Out!

My crafters created this gorgeous tunnel card using the Happiness Blooms Suite and the addition of our fabulous NEW rectangle framelits!

To recreate this gorgeous card

Night of Navy card stock cut at 5 ¼ ” x 8 ¼

whisper White Card Base – cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ ( you will also need scrap whisper white for the flower and white frame)

Designer Series Paper 2 pieces cut at 1 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

To assemble your card-

Fold your night of navy card stock in half and then fold each of the outside flaps into the centre score line and burnish with your bonefolder.

Line this piece of card stock onto the BigShot and centre the smaller Rectangle framelit evenly -using the middle score line as your gauge to line it up. (Tip use a Post it Note to ensure the framelit doesn’t move if you do not have a magnetic platform)

With your Coordinating card stock line up both the smaller and larger rectangle framelit and cut out an outer frame and adhere. Keep the off cut rectangle as it will be used on the front of your card!

While you are at the BigShot emboss your night of navy piece for the front of your card using the Dot to Dot texture folder!

Ink up your sentiment from the Amazing Life Stamp Set with Night of Navy and centre onto your piece of whisper white cardstock. (Tip -please ensure you hold down the image for 3 seconds to impart all of the ink as it is a larger image)

To assemble firstly add your Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper panels onto the inside panels of your card.

Add Tape and Tear to the back of both panels of the inner cardstock.

Adhere one side first allowing an even border on all three sides.

Adhere the second side ensuring you have the 2mm border

Fold your card in half. Adhere your Embossed piece of Cardstock onto the front of your card Decorate as instructed.

Stamp your Bloom by Bloom flower onto Whisper White Card stock and fussy cut around the images. Adhere to your off cut framelit and attach t to the front of your card!

I love that this card can be displayed for all to see!

MS Awareness Month!

Did you know that March is MS Awareness Month? Most people hear MS but don’t have much of an idea what it is and how it is treated.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.

What I didn’t know was that MS affects over 25,600 in Australia and more than two million diagnosed worldwide. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but it can affect younger and older people too. Roughly three times as many women have MS as men.

I have two of my wonderful crafters who suffer from MS and a friends mum has this condition. I wanted to make others aware of this silent and untreatable condition.
