Christmas Catalogue – Tags & Tidings

Oh my goodness I cant wait to share with you all the new goodies from the latest Stampin’Up! Catalogue!

There is just something magical about Christmas and the joy it brings with it!

In saying that if Christmas just isn’t your thing there is still loads of gorgeous Stamps in the catty for every occasion.

If you haven’t as yet received your copy of the catalogue please let me know and I will get one out into the mail for you!

Here are some of the gorgeous goodies inside!

When I make a project, especially Christmas ones I want something that looks beautiful but is virtually effortless to create plus it gets extra points if I can replicate loads of them quickly!

This project definitely ticks all the boxes! I was able to make up 10 in no time at all.

When creating this gorgeous little box I used some of my favourite specialty paper for the belly band from the Joyous Noel Suite.

I had loads of fun playing with textures adding the beautiful Merry Merlot & Copper Ribbon with the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper and the darling Sprig Punch just gives it that elegant twist.

Oh and to finish it off I used the most delightful stamp set in the whole catalogue The Tags & Tidings Stamp set and coordinating framelits.

Todays Christmas project is a sweet little pillow box!

Dimensions –

1 Pillow Box

Cut your belly band using the Joyous Noel DSP to 2 1/2″ x 7″, wrap around pillow box and adhere with snail.

Cut Merry Merlot & Copper Ribbon 21″ and wrap around the box.

Using your Sprig Punch cut 3 sprigs out of the Glimmer Paper

Stamp your Tags and Tidings Stamp with Tranquil Tide on Whisper White Cardstock.

Using the matching framelit cut your stamped image and choose your sentiment.

Cut a 1 1/2 inch piece of Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine and attach your sentiment to the ribbon.

Adhere your Glimmer Paper Sprigs using Glue dots.

Here is a card that I made just using the Tags & Tidings Stamp Set! Isn’t it stinking cute! I love that by stamping the image twice in two different colours I was able to add a pop of green to one of the sentiments!

$5000 Cancer Council Donation!

Cancer really, really sucks! There is really no other way I can say this without adding some really atrocious swear words that my mother would wash my mouth out for!

Cancer or the Big C as it’s called in my household, does not discriminate. It is a disease that can and does affect us all regardless of race, gender, religion or social status.

It has affected our family directly with the loss of my own father and two wonderful Uncles.

Ribbon Of Courage

Over the years I have watched so many amazing friends fight this insidious battle with a strength and determination that you wouldn’t believe. Don’t get me wrong they must have their bad days but they just get on with it and know that tomorrow is another day. A battle must be fought to be won.

Two of my besties Shazzy and Mel have both battled cancer first hand. Strong women who fight the fight and show cancer who is boss! They have been such a wonderful support to me over the years and they share a love of my boys which is returned in full. They love me like a friend should and I love them back loads and loads.

These women inspire me each and every day!

Sometimes I feel sad and sorry for them but quite frankly they are stuck with me ha ha ha.

After hearing that another friend was diagnosed with this really crappy C word, I was completely at a loss at what i could do to help. I approached my friend Symon who works for the Cancer Council in Brisbane with my idea of holding a morning tea to raise funds. He thought it was a great idea, gave me lots of guidance and told me to go ahead with it!

I then rang Stampin’Up! to see if they would donate something for my event. Only a few days later a box with almost a $1000 worth of Stampin Up! goodies turned up on my doorstep as a donation. I am so honoured to work for such a generous and wonderful company.

My silly little heart makes me feel quite useless at times but I realised this was something I could do! So I did it with gusto!

On the 24th of October with the help of my beautiful family and dearest friends I held a lovely morning tea for 40 beautiful ladies who had all been affected by cancer in some way. We were so lucky to have such an amazing spot for the day all thanks to my baby sister and my brother in law for their perfect backyard.

I had approached many wonderful businesses who were more then happy to offer amazing prizes for my raffle including holidays to Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast, Flight Vouchers, stunning artisan jewellery, Reef Tours, Local Food Tours, limited edition sunglasses, Fine dining vouchers, Electrical packages, the most amazing gift baskets and food hampers filled with local delicacies, Fresh produce, fine local wines, hairdressing and pampering packages and so much more!

I also had some wonderful friends approach me to donate more wonderful prizes including another beautiful local demonstrator Michelle who had fought cancer herself and won!! How amazing and generous is that!

I am so very thrilled to announce that on the day we raised just under $4500!! With a few more smaller events, a donation from The Crush Festival and my own Stampin’Up! commission added I have hit my goal of $5000!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to each and every person that helped me reach this goal! I couldn’t have done it without you!

Now if a mum of four with a dodgy heart can fundraise $5000 just think what you could do? I extend an invitation to you to try and raise much needed funds for this worthy cause! There are so many ways to raise funds! Send a message to your local Cancer Council Branch and they will be more then happy to give you some ideas.

Crush Festival Excitement and Final Cancer Council Raffle!

This year has been an incredibly exciting one for my little business! I am delighted to announce that I will be a part of this years fabulous Crush Festival.

I will be teaming up with the lovely Leanne Baker, owner and creator of Leanne Baker Daily.

Our goal for the day is to take you on a journey of self care, creativity and everything in between.

Living with a heart condition…..

Hello my lovely crafters,

I wanted to pop on and explain my absence on my business page. For those that know me well I have had a heart condition for 13 years now. A virus attacked my little heart when I was pregnant with my youngest and ever since it hasn’t worked properly.

After the Annual Catalogue my heart decided I needed 2 weeks bed rest and then a slow introduction to running the house again and back into my little business.

The Cardiologist has had a good crack at trying to fix it over the years but my little heart didn’t get the memos. So I take all the medication prescribed and rattle a little.

On the outside I look perfectly fine but some days its so hard just to put one foot in front of the other. My heart races like crazy even with medication which causes fatigue, excessive fluid build up, fluctuating weight gain, unhappy kidneys and a general feeling of being run down. Then on the good days the medication slows my heart too much which makes me feel even more blah.

Don’t get me wrong I have wonderful days where I feel on top of the world…..which leads me to doing way to much and paying for it over the next week or so. But while you feel good you grab it and run!

I promise I will try and be more active as I have so many wonderful things to share with you!

Stampin’Up has been a saviour to me. It makes me feel that I have a purpose, other than being a wife and mother. So thank you all for supporting me and making my little business the success it is. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Crafting is my happy place and I hope its yours too!

Tropical Escape Suite by Stampin’Up!

When I attended Onstage earlier this year the first bundle that caught my eye was the fabulous Tropical Escape Suite. Even though I live less then 10 mins to our local beach it still made me think of a beautiful tropical resort, with drinks being brought to me by the pool…..I have yet to do this in my 41 years but it is on my bucket list! I can dream right?

With beautiful lush foliage stamps, detailed Designer Series Paper and stunning new colours to work with what more could you ask for! I am loving the new Granny Apple Green Stamp Pad that accessorises so beautifully with this set.

Ill be honest the thing I look for when purchasing a bundle is will it be versatile and will I want to use it over and over again. I want a stamp set thats going to tick lots of boxes – versatility, value for money, multiple sentiments, fun to work with and scrapbook friendly. This list goes and on and luckily for me and you this set has it all!

Here is a gorgeous little card that I whipped up yesterday! I can’t take the credit for the design however as It was one of the samples Stampin’Up designed for the new colours they recently launched. The sweet little Gable Box was one of the Make and Takes I designed for our attendees to create for the Annual Bingo Launch over the weekend.

Heres a Video on how to create this card! Ill pop the instructions down below for you.

Card Instructions

Cut your Shaded Spruce Cardstock in half measuring 10.5cm x 21cm

Adhere your Granny Apple Green matting measuring 14.5cm x10cm to your card base with Snail Adhesive

Now Adhere your Tropical Chic Designer Series Paper measuring 14cm x 9.8cm9

From the Tropical Chic Clear Mount Stamp Set stamp two Rhododendron Leaves with Granny Apple Green ink. Then stamp your Hibiscus flower with Blushing Bride making sure you use a dauber to sponge around the outside of your stamp with Lovely Lipstick.

Stamp your sentiment onto a piece of Shaded Spruce measuring 10.5cm x 3.2 cm with Versamark and cover with White Embossing powder. Use your Heat Tool on the highest setting till your sentiment is glossy. Adhere to your card front with Dimensionals.

Adhere your Rhododendron Leaves with Dimensionsals and then adhere your Hibiscus flowers.

Add a piece of Whisper White Cardstock inside for your message.

Bingo Catalogue Launch!

On Saturday we celebrated the launch of the new Annual Catalogue with a Bingo Party! Who doesn’t love Bingo right?

It was so much fun being surrounded by lots of crafty ladies who in turn fell in love with the catalogue too!

The day consisted of Gift Bags, lucky draws raffles, make and takes using beautiful new product suites, hands on fun using the fabulous Stamparatus and Simply Shammy at the product wonderland and last but not least the heart stopping Bingo rounds! Oh so much fun!

Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day so special! Also a huge thank you to our wonderful assistants on the day Alison, Jessica, Marilyn and Janine! Your help made the day run so smoothly and I couldn’t have done it without you!

Stitched All Around! by Stampin’Up!

I may have squealed with excitement this week when my Australia Post Man arrived with my Stampin’Up! order

For me that beautiful brown box full of Stampin’Up! goodies is like opening a box full of happiness!

With my Annual Bingo Launch only a few short weeks away I had purchased lots of new stamps and framelits from the new Annual Catalogue for displays and upcoming classes. The first one I had to get my hands on was the Stitched All Around Stamp Set and Coordinating Framelits.

Stitched All Around Bundle

I love all those delicate stitched effects and doileys and when teamed up with the matching framelits you have all the stitches a guy or girl could ever want! It comes with versatile label pieces and a stitched texture piece that can be used to layer under a focal element make this set a must have. Edgelit pieces add a cross stitch or straight line stitching as a finishing touch to a project.

This is one of the sweet little projects we created over the weekend! An adorable little gift bag and matching card which you can recreate at home quickly and easily.

Gift Bag

Starting with a piece of 6 x 6 Garden Impressions DSP score with your Simply Scored at 1 3/8″

Turn your DSP clockwise and Score at 1 3/8″ but only to the scoreline ( as shown in video)

Score at 2 3/4″ the full length of the paper

Score at 4 1/8″ only to the scoreline

Lastly score at 5 1/2″.

Using your Paper Snips cut up each vertical score line to the horizontal scoreline.

Cut the small rectangle left off. Now cut a small wedge off the corners of that last rectangle.

Using your Bone Folder burnish all the scored lines.

Add Snail and adhere flap.

Using the Detailed Trio punch cut the corners off the third square flap and add snail to adhere.

Punch with a hole punch and use Lovely Lipstick ribbon to close.

Stamp your sentiment form the Stitched All Around Stampset and using the BigShot cut out the matching Stitched Labels framelit.

Adhere with Dimensionals

Share What You Love Squash Card!

Thanks for stopping by my Blog today!

I wanted to showcase to you another card using the Share What You Love Suite. I know I only shared this Suite just a few days ago but I couldn’t resist making yet another card with this seriously beautiful paper.

Squash cards would have to have one of the ugliest names to be honest but in fact they are one of the sweetest fancy folds around. I love how adorable they become when the card is squished together. Its always a surprise for the person receiving it!

Todays project is a Squash Fold card showcasing the beautiful Share What you Love Suite designer series paper, Love what you do stamp set and a pop of one of our returning Colours Blackberry Bliss!

To recreate this gorgeous card you will need-

A piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock measuring 20.5cm x 20.5cm

Three pieces of Designer Series Paper measuring 9.5cm x 9.5cm

( One piece is kept whole but the other two are cut in half to create triangles)

Two pieces of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 9.5cm x 9.5cm

Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon measuring 50cm

Pearlised Doiliey

Tips

Using your scoreboard score at 4inches on two sides creating four equal squares

Grab a ruler and your stylus and rule a line from one corner through to the other corner ensuring you have scored directly through the middle of the cross section.

Burnish with a bone folder on all the score lines.

Fold your card in half and fold the triangle section in on itself on both sides ( This is explained on the video for easy viewing)

Adhere your front piece of Designer Series Paper to your card.

Laying your card flat adhere your four triangle DSP on the card corners.

Stamp your flowers and sentiment on your whisper white cardstock and adhere using snail.

Position your Pearlised Doily to the left hand side of your card front.

Using your BigShot and your Stitched Framelits cut the largest square.

Stamp your sentiment onto the square using the Love What You Do Stamp Set and add your flowers.

Use Dimensionals to prop up each corner of the square.

Place ribbon around card, ensuring it is even.

Adhere the square framelit over the top of the ribbon

Tie your bow!

Whoala your Squash Card is complete!
